All Can Truly Serve

People with “Capabilities” serving your community!

"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’"

ACTS 20:35

All Can Truly Serve is a day program for adults with disabilities. ACTS was founded by Jerry Silveous, our “hands-on” Executive Director. He brings over 34 years of experience in the field. First, Jerry worked at Bittersweet Farms for 20 years in direct care and as a Program Manager. Then, in 2000, Jerry began a small recreation program company, and in 2008, he co-founded another provider day program. He started All Can Truly Serve (ACTS) in 2014, to help disabled adults give back to the community through service.

Jesus said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive‘, hinting at the value of service. Also, scientific research indicates that when a person demonstrates kindness, serotonin is released in the brain. In other words, being kind or helping others makes a person feel good and supports well-being. This philosophy is the primary motivation of ACTS.

Jerry has a passion for this population. He sees people who have a lot to offer, and provides them with a opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. His dream is to bring them fully into the community by providing them with authentic serving opportunities. This is accomplished with help from our amazing participants and our caring and knowledgeable staff, who make a great team!

Volunteer Day Program

All Can Truly Serve was founded in 2014. Recognizing that all people have talents to offer and a purpose, our program was intentionally designed for those with special needs to be connected in the community. We achieve this by helping others in a variety of ways.

Program members volunteer with several local non-profit organizations, transportation provided. One day, a team member may be volunteering at The Toledo Humane Society. Another day, they may be helping at The Ronald McDonald House or shopping for and preparing a meal for families or soup kitchens.

The relationship between community and our volunteers is mutually beneficial. Our clients touch the lives of those they serve and are impacted in return.
